Raise your wands, gamers! KingsIsle Entertainment has officially announced that their beloved MMORPG, Wizard101, will soon be enchanting PlayStation, Xbox, and Nintendo Switch consoles. Sixteen years after its original PC release in 2008, this family-friendly magic school game is set to bring its whimsical world to a whole new generation of players.
Whether you’re a nostalgic player from Wizard101‘s early days or a newcomer eager to dive into the magical world of Ravenwood School of Magical Arts, this console release promises an exciting experience. Players will soon have the chance to dust off their wizard robes, brush up on their spells, and prepare for a new semester at the Spiral’s most famous magical academy.
A Magical Journey on Multiple Platforms
Wizard101 will be available on PS4, PS5 (in PS4 compatibility mode), Xbox One, Xbox Series X|S (in Xbox One compatibility mode), and Nintendo Switch. KingsIsle has confirmed that all console versions will share a new server, allowing cross-play between different platforms. This means that whether you’re on PlayStation, Xbox, or Switch, you’ll be able to team up with other wizards and take on the challenges of the Spiral together.
The game’s turn-based deckbuilding combat, which has become a hallmark of Wizard101, will remain intact on consoles. Players can expect to embark on hundreds of quests, explore 20 whimsical worlds, and become part of a bustling and vibrant community of active players. Whether you’re battling fearsome foes, hatching and training adorable pets, or decorating your very own castle, Wizard101 offers a wide array of activities to keep players engaged.
Wizard101 – The Story Continues
The story of Wizard101 is as captivating as ever. A dark magic has overtaken Wizard City and the many worlds of the Spiral. As a new student at Ravenwood, you must harness your magical abilities to stop the evil forces threatening the balance of the Spiral. The fate of the entire magical realm rests on your shoulders as you unravel the mysteries surrounding a rogue professor and the darkness engulfing the Spiral.
Combat in Wizard101 is all about strategy. Players can customize their decks by adding or removing spell cards before each battle, ensuring they have the right spells at the right time. Battles can be fought solo or with friends, making teamwork an essential part of the game. The Spiral also offers a variety of side activities, including gardening, fishing, crafting, and even participating in housing decoration. With so much to do, there’s never a dull moment in the Spiral.
Constantly Evolving World
One of the key features of Wizard101 is its ever-expanding world. KingsIsle continues to introduce new worlds, features, and adventures, ensuring that players always have something new to discover. The game also offers weekly events with exclusive rewards, giving players even more reasons to log in and play.
A release date for the console versions has not yet been announced, but fans can expect more information in the coming months. In the meantime, Wizard101 remains available globally on PC via the official website and Steam.
For those attending PAX West, KingsIsle will be holding interviews at booth #745, offering a chance to speak directly with the developers about their plans for Wizard101 on consoles.
