Slow Cooker Pulled Pork is super easy to make, full of flavor and a great protein to add to meals. Great on salads, in tacos, burritos, over rice or with roasted veggies.

Slow Cooker Pulled Pork (1)

The first time I made this recipe, I had perfect strangers drooling. We had just moved into a new apartment and our fridge was on the fritz. We’d had a maintenance man pop in while we were at out to try and fix it, and also while the Apple Cider Pulled Pork cooked nearby for dinner. That afternoon when I returned home from teaching, I was unloading my car and daughter when the maintenance man approached me.

“Everything should be working okay with your fridge now,” he informed me. I thanked him for checking it out and started to walk to towards front door when I heard him start speaking again.

“Um, what do you have cooking in that crock pot in there?” he asked, a smidge uncomfortably.

Visions of exploding slow cookers or something as equally shocking (and unlikely) filled my imagination as I stuttered “Oh, um, just a apple cider pulled pork recipe I’m playing around with. Why?”

“Oh, well, it just smells really good. Like, really good. It was hard stay focused with that cooking near by. Enjoy your dinner and feel free to send me your leftovers,” he chuckled as we waved goodbye.

When near strangers are begging for your leftover dinner, you know you have a home run of a recipe.

And it really is a home run. Its everything you want in a pulled pork. Tender, juicy, and melt-in-your-mouth delicious. The acid from the apple cider and apple cider vinegar help to tenderize the meat while also keeping it juicy and flavorful. The low and slow cooking method makes it fall apart as soon as your fork touches it and shreds beautifully.

Eat it on a salad (how I personally love it), over some rice, or even on a bun! The great thing about pulled pork is that it is so adaptable and is a true crowd pleaser. Plus, IT IS MADE IN A SLOW COOKER. That right there makes me love this recipe, even if the taste hadn’t won me over already. Slow cookers make my life easier and keep my sanity intact. I have energy (and caffeine in my veins) first thing in the morning and getting a wholesome dinner into the slower cooker before I embark upon my day makes dinner time way less stressful and hectic. I’m a slow cooker junkie without apology. Now let’s get you hooked on Slow Cooker Pulled Pork too.

This looks delicious but I don’t have a slow cooker. Would it work in my oven? I do pulled beef in 3 hours at 160 Celsius – would that work here to you think? Thanks 😀

I’m so excited to try this and bought almost all of the ingredients today. I’m struggling to find the unsweetened apple cider anywhere. I didn’t even see it on amazon. Could you tell me where you find it?! Thanks!

I usually find it local to me, but you can also use unsweetened apple juice! Apple cider is just unfiltered juice, so the taste will be the same
