Synopsis
After the death of Shaggy's Uncle Beaureguard, he, Scooby and Scrappy arrive at the late uncle's Southern plantation to collect the inheritance. But as soon as they arrive, they find it is haunted by the ghost of a Confederate soldier. With this spook on their tails while they solve riddles in search of the inheritance, they seek help from the Boo Brothers, a trio of ghost-exterminators to help catch this nasty ghoul.

-“You’re such a wimp.”
-“But I’m a LIVE wimp!”I’m pretty sure Shaggy popped some blood vessels during this. He spends more time steaming mad than he does scared. Dude dished out attitude towards everyone, even the ghosts!
This is an unhinged way to start the Scooby movie machine. Everything is thrown at the wall, I’ll leave it up to you to determine how much of it sticks. Shaggy’s uncle was a general in the confederacy(!), there’s like a dozen different antagonists from an escaped gorilla to the Headless Horseman, everyone has guns and are willing to use them, Shaggy has mad game (as per usual), and it’s a constant barrage of gags.
And I mean constant.…

(Shaggy stammering)
I think this place is haunted with G-G-G-G Spirits!
I don’t think I’ve ever seen my daughter so caught off guard by a joke. She seriously repeated that line 30 more times before the movie ended.
I generally enjoy old-school Scooby-Doo, but this was straight trash! Scoob, Shaggy and Scrappy can keep things interesting for a standard length episode, but without the rest of the gang, this 90 minute movie was unending torture!
I’ll estimate that 2/3rds off this flick was the S Trio on a treasure hunt, going from clue to clue while being chased by something (gorilla, bear, skeleton, ghost, headless horseman, hillbilly and his sister/girlfriend). It was unending and unbearable…the whole family was praying for this to end by the half way point.

Guest Star:Happy Halloween! 🎃 I`ve been thinking for a while about what my Halloween watch(es) would be. Usually it`s Halloweentown, but I watched that earlier in the month for the mini DCOM spookfest I did. I`ve seen a few LB friends returning to Scooby-Doo`s from their childhood, and just yesterday I saw a commercial for a new one, Happy Halloween Scooby-Doo!. I haven`t watched Scoob from earlier this year either, so this will give me a chance to see that.
There`s 56 in total, but they`re all <90 mins, so I`m hoping to finish before my birthday in November to make it a…

And with Boo Brothers complete, I have done it. I have watched every Scooby-Doo film. In some ways I'm actually really sad. The time I spent watching this series growing up are some of my favorite memories, and it was amazing discovering all these lesser known movie gems. I still of course can rewatch them, and I have quite a few of the series left to get through, but this definitely is a large milestone.
I originally planned to watch this the same day as Scoob, but that movie broke my heart so much that I just couldn't bring myself to watch this movie. I was afraid that it would hurt me like Scoob hurt me. Fortunately,…

Scooby-Doo Chronological Canon | 2/51 |
Here we are, eight years later with the second Scooby movie. I had a fun time watching this for the most part, though I feel the 90-minute runtime does drag on. This movie had a lot of fun characters who were all pretty random as well. They'd show up for a bit, leave for a bit and so on. I enjoyed having Scrappy in this movie as well because he's not just a big chicken like Shaggy and Scoob. I thought the Boo Brothers weren't really the focal point of the movie, so I don't know why they're highlighted as the central characters in this one, but it's not a huge deal. I was…

man i didn't really know what to expect from this but between shaggy getting sexually harassed and assaulted by a hillbilly and then almost getting murdered by her brother, and shaggy's family being slave owners and how shaggy wanted their (stolen) riches, this ain't it chief

Spooktober 2019: #20
thought i’d dip into the scooby-doo franchise to loosen up the horror marathon i got going but still keep it spooky. this one’s a banger already! non-stop kids comedy that barely let me breathe and is often quite clever. 90 minutes is long for this type but the fly by so quickly thanks to the continuously fastpaced and stacked plot. predictable little adventure with lovably goofy characters and its heart in the right place.
