I live where there there is no Outback Steakhouse. I have 4 NY thick steaks. What is the best way to cook them. Can I use the recipes for Ribeye Steak?

A trick I've learned when pan searing is to put the pan in the oven on 500 until preheated. Pull it out and put it on the hot burner and toss the steak in. Perfect sear every time!

This is a great spice mix. I sprinkle it on my steaks before I freeze them. By the time they've thawed when I get around to cooking them, the flavors have really set in. It's also good on hamburgers.

OUTRAGEOUSLY GOOD STEAK RUB, but seriously, I can't believe anybody has their steaks this salty. According to previous reviews, I halved the amount of salt and this was perfect!

Had this on steaks and pork chops...yummy! Once you have the spices out, make a double batch....you'll be glad you did!I keep it on the shelf . We call it "MAGIC DUST" . Thanks for publishing!

Tried this recipe for the first time. I questioned the amount of salt, but went ahead as directed. It turned out way too salty and had to throw away steaks after trying three or four bites!!! Could the amount of salt be a misprint???

I omitted the salt completely. I dry brined the steak with as much salt as I like to my taste and used the rub to add flavor and color. For the rub I used half the cayenne and did 25% smoked paprika and 75% regular paprika. Phenomenal result!

Okay, I know people sometimes have a problem when people rate a recipe but don't follow it exactly. I couldn't help myself on this one! I didn't have coriander or tumeric. I read what the flavors are similar to by clicking on the spice. So I substituted them both one with 1/2 tsp lemon pepper and the other with 1/2 tsp ground ginger. I also left out the cayenne as I am not a big fan of spicy food. This along with marinade #66648 by luuvbunny is awesome! I have NEVER made a steak I really liked before this! DH said whatever you did please keep the recipe. Then posted a pic to facebok. Thanks for making me look like a star! Definetely make extra rub you'll need it! (I only used 3 tsp of salt, and it was just right, maybe even a little salty for some people's taste, but perfect for us)

This was pretty darn good! I had to substitute basil for the coriander, and curry powder for the turmeric (we were out of both), I cut down the cayenne by half, as well as the salt. The seasonings were delicious, and the only drawback was that we all felt like we had been pepper-sprayed when the plates hit the table - not a major drawback, and in fact quite funny to watch :) We will definitely use this again. Thanks!

I really loved this! It's the first time I've used a rub - I always marinate my steaks, but I really wanted steak and didn't have the time to marinate, so this was perfect. I used 6 tsp onion salt in place of the salt and onion powder and I omitted the coriander and turmeric as I didn't have either, but they still tasted great! My husband and son found them too spicy, though, so next time, I'll cut down on the cayenne for their sakes.
