Mount idea: water walking WoD version

Unread postby Xota »
I really like my water strider, but I think it will look and feel out of place on Draenor. And WoD should have a water-walking mount so people don't have to go back and farm Anglers' rep. The dragonfly mount could operate like a ground mount in non-flyable areas, and it would hover over water, since dragon flies are wetlands type insects in real life.

I am absolutely not going to argue against dragonfly mounts! And I do think that would be an appropriate ability for them.

Or they could give us the different skins of the striders finally!! I find it to be the most useful mount when lvling and always have it on my bars
The dragonfly is a cool idea tho!

That would be cool. Technically any flying mount that can be used as a ground mount should at least water walk, but I doubt they're going to go that route, but a dragonfly would at least have that water link. The only caveat is they may not be happy making regularly-available flying mounts available in non-flying zones, as only "special" mounts tend to be able to do that.

I did wonder if the new Riverbeasts might also have a buff like this, and whether they would end up as a mount of some kind also, simillar to the Waterstriders
Riverbeast (name confirmed by Slickrock, who has also seen them in the wild). We don't have any model shots yet, just this concept art. He confirmed that it is a lot like the concept art, but (quote) "Body a bit longer, not quite as thick, and face much more hippoish, but that is certainly it."

Oh my goodness, I would throw away all of my gold for a Riverbeast mount. Maybe something that swims quickly, like a seahorse mount (but a little faster)?
