Gordon Ramsay charges £290 a head for Christmas dinner - without any turkey (2024)

Celebrity chef Gordon Ramsay is charging guests an eyewatering £290 to enjoy Christmas dinner at one of his lavish London restaurants - and you can't even have turkey

We all love a bit of extravagance at Christmas, but would you be willing to part with £290 to enjoy a Christmas dinner that doesn't even come with turkey? That's the eyewatering price celebrity chef Gordon Ramsay is charging guests at one of his lavish London restaurants this Christmas, meaning that a family of four would have to cough up a staggering £1,160 for the extravagant dining experience.

The hefty price is the cost of spending Christmas Day at Petrus by Gordon Ramsay, a restaurant located on Kinnerton Street in South West London. But you won't be able to enjoy a classic turkey roast dinner as part of the menu, and your £290 doesn't include drinks. What's more, you'll still have a 15% "discretionary service charge" added to your bill.

While there's no turkey on the menu at Petrus, you can enjoy luxurious dishes such as confit Dover sole - served with organic spelt, ceps, and black truffle - as well as lobster raviolo and Aynhoe Park deer, which comes with beetroot and cranberry. There's also a potimarron tart with sea lettuce, coffee, and white truffle, as well as a dessert consisting of plaisir sucre, which is essentially a fancy chocolate cake.

If you want to splash out on a wine pairing for your dinner, you'll have to cough up a significant amount of cash. There are three pricey options for pairings - the premium pairing, costing £220, the connoisseur pairing, priced at £395, and the indulgence pairing, which will set you back a staggering £875.

The eye-watering prices at Petrus are only slightly more expensive than they were last year, when the Christmas Day extravaganza would have cost you £275 per person. You still didn't get drinks included and there wasn't any turkey on the menu then either, in fact, some of the menu items - including the Dover sole and lobster raviolo - were exactly the same.

However, if you're desperate for a Gordon Ramsay dining experience that does include a turkey dinner, then you can head over to The Savoy Grill instead, where the celebrity chef is serving roasted Norfolk Bronze turkey breast as part of his Christmas Day menu.

The Savoy Grill will also set you back £290 per person, but you'll only spend £100 per child, so a family of four that includes two children will actually spend £780 instead of £1,160. This still doesn't include drinks though, and you'll also still have the 15% gratuity added to your bill at the end.

For a completely different dining experience, you can also head to Gordon's Lucky Cat restaurants in either Mayfair or Manchester, which are also open on Christmas Day and are charging £175 a head for their menu. As these locations are Asian restaurants there's no turkey on the menu here either, but you can enjoy a sashimi selection and Korean spiced black cod.
