German candy subscription box - candy every month - free shipping (1)

Happy New Year everyone! It’s 2016 and this means that 12 months of Candy German subscription boxes are waiting for you, 12 months of indulgence, surprises, and new experiences. As always, we read all of your emails very carefully. Many requests reached us, like "Please put this and that in the box". We always take your requests into consideration and so your January German candy subscription box is a mixture of some new candies, and some variations of candies we already put in the box in the past.

Duplo White

"Duplo, probably the longest praline of the world" – this is one of the most famous candy straplines we know in Germany. The original Duplo bar, which is a milk chocolate variation, is available in Germany since 1964. It’s one of the most traditional German candies. Its producer is the Italian company Ferrero that has a manufacture in Frankfurt, Germany. Duplo White is available since 2013. We received some Candy German subscriber’s emails who told us that they would like to try more white chocolate products, so we decided to put the white version and not the milk chocolate version of the Duplo in your monthly German candy subscription box. But that’s not the only reason – Duplo White is extraordinarily good! A fine hazelnut cream is sandwiched between layers of wafers, The treat is covered in white chocolate. Duplo White has a lovely light texture, the crunchy wafers and the hazelnut cream fit together perfectly. There are 10 bars in your package.

Katjes Grün-Ohr Bärchen

Katjes Grün-Ohr Bärchen are fruit gummies that come in the flavors cherry, lemon, orange, pineapple, and apple. The special thing about this Katjes product is the green ear of every bear in the package. Grün-Ohr Bärchen = green eared little bears. The green ear does not only look cute, it is meant to be a symbol for delicious vegetarian indulgence without animal gelatin. The famous German candy company Katjes produces a lot of vegetarian products. All taste phenomenally good. I’m sure you’d agree – we already put several Katjes products in your past Candy German subscription boxes and you always let us know that you loved it. The Grün-Ohr Bärchen won the Katjes "Bestseller Award" in 2013.

Griesson Keks Geknusper Schokolade or Karamell

Either you got the chocolate or the caramel version of this German candy in your monthly candy subscription box. No matter which one you received, the very traditional German company Griesson, that exists since 1892, did a great job. Let’s start with the chocolate variety: It’s crispy like a biscuit and tasty like a brownie. The chocolate taste is very intense, little chocolate pieces complete the chocolate taste. The caramel variety: It smells and tastes like a caramel toffee and has the texture of a crispy biscuit. Again, the taste is very intense, little caramel pieces are added to the cookie and there is a . First you might think that those cookies are very hard and dry, but that’s really not the fact. Although Keks Geknusper is very, very crunchy it is not dry at all. You don’t need to soak it in your coffee, it is a perfect sweet snack for in between or when you are out and about.

Yogurette Wintertraum Bratapfel & Zimt

If you already were subscribed to Candy German in April 2015, you already were able to indulge in the unique Yogurette taste. Back then you received the original strawberry variety that is sold in Germany since 1970. Wintertraum Bratapfel & Zimt = winter dream baked apple & cinnamon is on supermarket shelves for about two years now, but only during wintertime. There are 10 bars in your package (it’s a big pack, normally there are only 8 bars in each package), each one is filled with a yoghurt cream that has an intense apple taste and a light cinnamon flavor. I love the light sour yoghurt cream in combination with the creamy milk chocolate – yummy!

Milka Nussini

Another German candy you already received another variety of, given you are a long-time Candy German subscriber, is Milka Nussini. This month you get the original hazelnut variety – in May 2015 you got the coconut variety. You told us that you loved your May Nussini and that you would love to try the original hazelnut sort. So here it is! I don’t have to say anything about Milka anymore, this German candy company found its way into your monthly candy subscription box so often before, I’m sure you’re quite familiar with this company by now. Nussini consists of crispy waffle layers with a hazelnut cream covered in delicious milk chocolate. The crunchiness of this treat is phenomenal, in combination with the hazelnut cream and the smooth milk chocolate this German candy is just perfect!

Hanuta Haselnuss-Schnitte

"Please put more hanuta in the box!" This is the consensus of many emails we received. It seams that your single hanuta in May 2015 was not enough, so this time you get a double pack in your German candy subscription box. I absolutely understand your request – I love to eat hanuta since I was a kid. Hanuta is a hazelnut slice = Hazelnuss-Schnitte. Two wafers surround a cocoa-hazelnut cream. Ferrero has its own roasting facility where they process the hazelnuts they use for their products. You can taste small pieces of the nuts in the cream, they are really aromatic. The cocoa cream is wonderful and the wafer is not only delicious, it also protects your fingers from being blotted. The perfect treat for out and about.

Gletscher Eis

The producer of these goodies is Villosa that is a part of Katjes since 2000. It’s quite difficult to describe the taste of the Gletscher Eis bonbons because it is so different from every other candy. Perhaps it would be the best way to describe it by starting with the name. Gletscher Eis means glacial ice. What I connect to glacial ice is something very cool and fresh and that’s exactly how the Gletscher Eis bonbons taste. They are kind of sour and minty but sweet at the same time. They are also kind of fruity although there is no fruit contained. The taste is kind of weird but I like these goodies. They are a very unique taste experience – you have to try them!

Wawi Schoko-Reis wölkchenleicht

This chocolate bar by the German candy company The Wawi Group is different because of its special texture – it’s wölkchenleicht = cloudlet light. What makes this bar so light is the puffed rice which almost weights nothing. The combination with a smooth milk chocolate makes the Schoko-Reis bar an airy and light treat. It’s perfect when you’re sweet tooth aches, but you don’t want to have anything heavy or rich in your stomach.

What do you think, is the January Candy German subscription box a good start in 2016? Do you like your candy from Germany? Please feel free to let us know at hello@candygerman.com.

Once again, we want to hint that the green packing material we use is bio-degradable. You can throw it in your general household trash and even compost it. The box itself consists of recycled cardboard.
