What Makes This Recipe Great

I usually keep Easter celebrations pretty small with my family. We like to do egg hunts, small gifts for the kids, and a festive meal for just the 4 of us. To keep it easy and manageable, I love cooking a small ham for these occasions and it takes less than an hour in the air fryer. It’s a great main dish even for Thanksgiving or Christmas if you are cooking for a smaller group. Super simple ingredients, a few favorite sides, and the best holiday dinners with my little family!

This Air Fryer Glazed Ham is the perfect amount of sweet and salty, with a bit of tanginess to balance out all the flavors. I also love how easy the cleanup is with this recipe. It’s simple, delicious, and super easy to make, taking all the stress out of holiday cooking and giving you time to spend with loved ones!

  • Fully cooked boneless ham: This recipe is for a 3-pound ham. For a larger ham, you may need to adjust the cooking time. Make sure to use a boneless, pre-cooked ham that doesn’t already have a glaze.
  • Butter: Use melted butter or any preferred cooking oil (olive oil, avocado oil, etc.).
  • Brown sugar: You can also use coconut sugar if desired.
  • Honey
  • Dijon mustard
  • Garlic powder
  • Paprika

Step-by-Step Instructions

Air Fryer Ham Recipe with Homemade Honey Glaze (3)
  1. Preheat the air fryer to 320 degrees F.
  2. Use aluminum foil to wrap the ham completely, making sure the seam is at the top. If you prefer the foil to not touch the meat, you can add a layer of parchment paper in between the foil and the meat.
  3. Place the ham in the air fryer basket and air fry for 20 minutes.
  4. While the ham cooks, melt butter in a small saucepan over medium-low heat. Add the rest of the ingredients, simmer, and stir until the mixture starts bubbling. Remove the butter mixture from heat.
  5. Open up the foil and brush the ham all over with about 3/4 of the glaze.
  6. Close up the foil and cook the ham in the air fryer for another 20 minutes.
  7. Fold the foil down and brush on the remaining glaze. Cook in the air fryer uncovered for 10 more minutes until browned and caramelized, and the ham reaches an internal temperature of 140-145 degrees F on an instant read thermometer or meat thermometer.
  8. Rest for 10 minutes, then serve.

Expert Tips

Prepping the Ham: Use aluminum foil to wrap the ham completely, making sure the seam is at the top of the ham. If you prefer the foil to not touch the meat, you can add a layer of parchment paper in between the foil and the meat.

Serving Tips

After the ham has rested, use a sharp knife and a cutting board to slice the ham into thin slices. Transfer the sliced ham onto a serving platter and serve with your favorite side dishes like green beans and roasted carrots, or try my Creamy Grape Salad, , Instant Pot Mashed Potatoes, Asparagus Salad, or Grilled Zucchini.

Storage Tips

Leftovers can be stored in an airtight container in the fridge for 4-5 days. Reheat in the air fryer, microwave, or oven. In my opinion, the flavor is even better with leftovers!Plus, leftover ham slices make a quick weeknight dinner in a pinch!

You can use air-fried ham leftovers for Ham and Pea Pasta Salad, Ham and Potato Soup, or sandwiches.
