Should a 12 year old watch Deadpool? ›

The writing in this movie is just plain phenomenal, and the comedy: golden. However, Deadpool is not for kids. While this film does have an incredible story, amazing writing and fantastic acting, its also VERY mature in almost every aspect.

It has lots of graphic violence, sex (including partial nudity), adult humor, and nonstop strong language. Unlike most other Marvel superhero films, which only hint at romance, include just a few curse words, and skip the gore, Deadpool is decidedly grown-up, bloody, and raunchy by comparison.

You are able to stream Deadpool by renting or purchasing on Apple TV, Google Play Movies, and Vudu.

"Deadpool" is absolutely hilarious. The story isn't groundbreaking, but it does the trick and the same goes for the action which isn't bad either. The greatness of this film lies in its humor and its uniqueness. It isn't like every other superhero film.

The trailer also features various other adult jokes, with Reynolds clearly relishing in the innuendos with his social media posts, too. Kevin Feige also previously assured fans that the film will be R-rated from the very beginning, telling EW: "That's our first R-rated film. To have Hugh come back is incredible.”

Yes, Deadpool feels every bit of pain as normal humans do. However, his regenerative ability allows him to heal from all injuries. While Deadpool can heal quickly, he isn't indestructible. His body restores, but he does endure pain as much as a regular human would upon a similar injury.

As with the original, it's important to note that this is not a typical superhero movie that families with elementary schoolers and tweens will want to see; it's truly best for older teens and adults who will understand and appreciate the humor (not to mention be able to stomach the incredibly gory violence).
